Submit a complaint

There are five steps to submitting your complaint:

  1. Step 1: What is this complaint about?
  2. Step 2: What type of problem are you having?
  3. Step 3: What happened?
  4. Step 4: What company is this complaint about?
  5. Step 5: Who are the people involved?

Before you get started

You’ll need the dates, amounts, and other details about your complaint. If you have documents you want to include, such as billing statements or letters from the company, you’ll be able to attach them in Step 3.

Make sure to include all the information you can, because you cannot submit a second complaint about the same problem.

The CFPB does not read the descriptions of your complaint. Instead, we send them directly to the companies involved.
